These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the AURA by AJ website aurabyaj.com and any services you book through us. By using our website or booking a treatment, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, please do not use the website or book with us.
1. About Us
AURA by AJ is a trading name for Aura by AJ, a mobile aesthetics and hair extensions clinic based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. We provide our services to clients across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Greater London.

2. Bookings and Appointments
Booking confirmation
When you book a treatment, you will receive a confirmation email. The booking is only confirmed once you receive this email.
Deposits
Most treatments require a deposit at the time of booking. The deposit is deducted from the total cost of your treatment. Deposits are non-refundable except as set out in the cancellation policy below.
Consultation requirement
Some treatments, including all prescription-only injectables (anti-wrinkle and dermal filler), require a face-to-face consultation before the treatment. This is a legal requirement, not a sales tactic.
Reflection period
Following your consultation for any injectable treatment, we require a minimum 48-hour reflection period before the treatment is performed. This is to protect you from impulsive decisions.
3. Pricing and Payment
Prices
All prices on our website include VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change but the price you were quoted at the time of your booking is the price you will pay.
Payment
- Deposit is paid online at the time of booking.
- Balance is paid on the day of your treatment, in person, by card or contactless.
- We do not currently accept cash.
Travel fees
Travel within 30 minutes of Dunstable is included. For longer distances, a travel fee may apply. This will always be quoted upfront before you confirm.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Cancellation by you
- More than 48 hours before your appointment: Full refund of your deposit, or transferred to a new appointment.
- Between 24 and 48 hours before: Deposit retained, but transferable to a new appointment within 30 days.
- Less than 24 hours before: Deposit forfeited.
- No-show (without notice): Deposit forfeited and we may decline future bookings.
Cancellation by us
If we need to cancel your appointment for any reason (including illness, transport difficulties, or supply issues), we will:
- Notify you as soon as possible
- Refund any deposit in full, or
- Reschedule at a time that suits you, with no penalty
Late arrival
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to shorten or reschedule your appointment depending on our schedule. Your deposit will not be refunded if your treatment cannot be carried out due to your late arrival.
5. Medical Suitability and Refusal
We reserve the right to refuse treatment
We will not perform a treatment if, in our professional judgement:
- You are not medically suitable
- You have not completed required consent forms truthfully
- You appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding (for treatments where this is contraindicated)
- We have any safety concerns
If we refuse treatment on the day, the deposit will normally be retained as a consultation fee, except in cases where the unsuitability could have been identified earlier through proper screening.
You must provide accurate information
You agree to give us accurate and complete information about your health, medications, allergies, and any previous treatments. Withholding information could put you at serious risk and may invalidate any insurance cover for complications.
6. Treatment Outcomes
No guarantees
Aesthetic treatments are personal. Results vary between individuals based on age, skin type, lifestyle, and many other factors. We do our best to set realistic expectations during your consultation, but we cannot guarantee specific results.
Top-ups and adjustments
- Anti-wrinkle treatments include a complimentary review at 2 weeks where minor adjustments can be made.
- Filler top-ups within the first 4 weeks are charged at our standard rate, not free of charge.
- Subsequent corrections or adjustments depend on the situation and will be discussed individually.
Side effects
All aesthetic treatments carry risks of side effects. These are explained at consultation and detailed in your consent form. By signing the consent form, you confirm you understand and accept these risks.
7. Aftercare
You agree to follow all aftercare instructions provided to you. Failing to follow aftercare may:
- Affect your results
- Increase the risk of complications
- Limit our ability to support you with corrections
If you experience any concerning symptoms after treatment, you must contact us as soon as possible. In an emergency, call 999.
8. Hair Extensions
Hair extensions are sold as a service plus a hair product. Once hair is fitted to you, it cannot be returned for hygiene reasons. The fitting fee is non-refundable once the work has been carried out.
We use ethically sourced human Remy hair from trusted UK suppliers. Hair quality cannot be guaranteed if you use products not recommended by us, or if you do not follow our aftercare instructions.
9. Photography and Marketing
We may take before-and-after photographs of your treatment for medical records, only with your consent.
We will never share your photographs publicly (on social media, website, or marketing) without separate, written, additional consent. You can withdraw consent for marketing use at any time.
10. Website Use
Acceptable use
You may use our website to:
- Book treatments
- Read about our services
- Contact us
You may not use our website to:
- Submit false information
- Try to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Impersonate another person
- Use it for any unlawful purpose
Intellectual property
All content on our website (text, images, logo, design) is owned by AURA by AJ and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, copy, or republish our content without our written permission.
11. Limitation of Liability
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill, in line with industry standards.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any one treatment will not exceed the amount you paid for that treatment.
Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything, please contact us first. We take all concerns seriously and aim to resolve issues within 14 days.
If we cannot resolve your concern, you can:
- Contact our insurer's complaints line (provided on request)
- Refer the matter to a relevant industry body (e.g. Save Face register, JCCP, or the practitioner's training body)
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. For significant changes affecting existing bookings, we will email you.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
